Accessibility

Everyone should be able to use Ilmora: on this website and in both apps. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

Using this website

  • The Accessibility & help button is at the top of every page.
  • Each page has one purpose. The Menu and the footer list every page.
  • Keyboard: Tab moves forward, Shift + Tab moves back, Enter or Space chooses, Escape closes panels. The first Tab on each page offers “Skip to main content”.
  • Screen readers: pages use headings in order and landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer). Pictures have descriptions; decorative ones are skipped.
  • You can zoom the page up to 200% or more without losing content.

Adjusting the website

Open Accessibility & help at the top of any page to:
  • 1
    Make text Large or Largest.
  • 2
Turn on High contrast for darker text, stronger borders and underlined links.
  • 3
Reduce motion to stop page fades. We also follow your device’s reduced-motion setting.
  • 4
Turn on Simple navigation: a numbered list of every page appears at the top, with “you are here”, and decorative pictures are hidden.
Your choices are remembered in this browser.

The demo video

The video on the Home page has no sound. Captions describe each step and can be turned off. A written description and a full timestamped transcript sit next to the video. Every control is a labelled button that works with a keyboard and screen readers. The video never plays by itself.

Accessibility in our apps

  • Ilmora for Kids: a parent can choose support for a child who is blind, has low vision, is deaf or hard of hearing, or has cerebral palsy or other motor differences. The app then changes its sound, captions, vibration, button sizes, timing and tracing to fit.
  • Ilmora Learn: every adult can set the same support for themselves in Settings, and the Aa button on every screen changes text size, colours and language.
  • Every activity can be done without speaking, and without precise pointing.

Known limitations

  • This website is in English only for now. The apps are available in English, Kiswahili and Arabic.
We last reviewed this site against WCAG 2.2 level AA in October 2026, using automated checks and keyboard and screen-reader testing. An independent audit is planned before the Android app launches.
